VFW Post 5443 Recognizes 2026 Patriot’s Pen Award Winners

This year’s winners are: • Norah K. Scherer • Carson J. McKinnie • Brantley D. Goodman

All three students were present at the meeting and were honored for their outstanding essays, which demonstrated strong patriotism, thoughtful reflection, and a clear understanding of American values.

During the ceremony, Post Commander Phillip Greenway presented each student with a personalized Certificate of Distinction plaque in recognition of their achievement.

VFW Post 5443 is proud to support youth programs like Patriot’s Pen, which encourage students to think critically about citizenship, democracy, and the responsibilities that come with freedom. We congratulate Norah, Carson, and Brantley on their accomplishments and thank them for sharing their perspectives.
